Ex- Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were under his care.
The Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – including some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
One deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
