Netflix Casts Perfect Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Third Season
Baroque Works is set to make a major impact in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, even if the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has recently been selected.
Netflix announced recently that the talented performer will appear in the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will play Bentham. The role possesses the power to morph into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will play a version of that character reinterpreted as gender non-binary, as opposed to as a drag performer, in the real-life adaptation, unlike the initial comic and cartoon version.
This performer joins a number of fresh additions set to bring the group to reality, featuring chief Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Though this character is a major member of Baroque Works, the persona won’t appear until One Piece the third season. With season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this marks a major departure in the timing of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the story’s structure.
Escola’s blend of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a perfect fit for the role. Besides their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and multiple awards for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll add to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is scheduled to come back for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
