Renowned Performer The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic programs such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find someone who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, colleague and actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
