19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback the Russian player claimed his first title for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the American major.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former mentor Cervara.
Now working with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents the player's initial title since the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
The win also signifies the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and frequent outbursts on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an improved serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors swapped break points in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a third set.
The opponent saved 4 initial opportunities in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
