Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the global break, but will the English top division frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' latest album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Soccer and Parenting Life
Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a serious return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.
"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer team," he added.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.
"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
In my opinion this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
The expert's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will go with Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
My son told me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
They have not had much success on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be rather close. 1-1
The computer's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a huge game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.
As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.
But I am not choose that. Rather, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
